Description

That's Japanese for "Mantis of Cherry Tree" - or at least according to Google translate. Sakura is the name of my Orchid mantis shown here, when she was younger she had a vivid pink coloration on her legs that gave her the appearance of a cherry blossom, so the name was only logical.

The tree she is in is a Japanese Snowbell. This is the same tree I photographed pet insects in previous years, one of which I submitted. This image also appears in the 2014 Mantidforum.net Calendar (which is here: www.zazzle.com/2014_mantidforu… ) for the month of June.
